Who is your favorite musical artist, and why?

My favorite musical artist is Claude Debussy because he pioneered musical impressionism (my favorite style of Classical music). He has written many beautiful pieces which have made a positive impact on my musical development as well as other pianists, like Bill Evans.

Where did your passion for music stem from? Is there anyone who inspired you in particular?

I first started loving music when I was five years old, when my mom put me in piano lessons so I could be just like my older sister, a talented pianist. My family and piano teacher especially have inspired me to continue to work hard and find something to love about every aspect of music.

What have you discovered about yourself or others through working at TCC?

I have discovered that I am capable of working with like-minded people. I’ve also seen that people who are passionate about music are all very different, but equally wonderful!

What is the most rewarding part of working at The Cantabile Collective (TCC)?

The most rewarding part of working at TCC is easily the wonderfully kind and supportive community. I love to see the dynamics between all of the people here.

What extracurriculars (clubs, organizations, sports, etc.) are you involved in outside of TCC?

I’m involved in perhaps ten student-led NPOs that center either around STEM or music, two of my greatest passions. I’m also in my school’s jazz band, wind ensemble, in addition to my local community band.

What are your dreams or aspirations in life?

I want to become a civil engineer and move to Los Angeles, but I will always keep music in my life!
